Scholastic Aptitude Test and the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT)
The Scholastic Aptitude Test is a standardized test that measures verbal, mathematical and analytical skills. It tests knowledge of reading, writing and math needed for academic success in colleges and universities. The test is used by most colleges and universities in the United States to assist them in selecting incoming freshmen. The SAT is strictly administered by the College Board, which serves more than 22,000 high schools, and 3,500 colleges through major programs and services in college admissions, guidance, assessment, enrollment, and teaching and learning.
