Fullbright Ontario Secondary School Program
(Grade 9-Grade 12)
CFIS offers the Ministry of Ontario Curriculum from grades 9-12. The academic scheme is based on a credit system where 1 credit is gained for every 110-hour course successfully completed. CFIS is organized around a semestered system. A student can earn as many as 8 complete high school credits from the beginning of September to the end of June without going to Summer school. Semesters start in September, November, January, March, May, and the summer semester in July. Students may join CFIS during any one of these convenient intakes.
CFIS students who successfully complete high school will be awarded the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) by the Ontario Ministry of Education.
Students need to achieve at least 30 credits upon completion of Grades 9-12; 18 of which are compulsory courses and the remaining 12 are electives. Electives are courses students can choose to take which allow them to explore and learn about other disciplines of interest.
In addition to credits, students must complete 40 hours of community service and pass the Ontario Literacy Test (OSLT) in order to fulfill all OSSD requirements.
CFIS welcomes international students at any time. Students who have partially completed secondary school education will be offered equivalent credits based on their prior learning successfully completed abroad.
When you study at CFIS, you will find that it is a place which leads to success. Catering for our students’ special needs, we offer customized and excellent courses.
